Together CK Review Committee-Volunteers
Consultation has concluded.
What is Together CK?
Together CK (originally called the Community Partnership Fund) was established by Council in 2000, as a grant program using matching funding to promote community events within Chatham-Kent. Since its inception, the municipal grant program has leveraged municipal investment into $15+ million worth of community development projects and events and has encouraged widespread civic engagement and community improvement. Together CK invests in events and community projects that help Council make a difference and have an impact on our community, by achieving Council’s “Areas of Strategic Focus” as set out in our community strategic plan—CK Plan 2035.
What is the Together CK Review Committee?
The Together CK Review Committee is an administrative committee that is representative of the community and, as such, is recognized as the legitimate means for reviewing grant applications and making sound recommendations to Council, and therefore an essential role in enabling the community to participate more directly in the decision-making process.
In general, the role of a Review Committee is as follows:
- Review applications for Community Partnership Fund grant program
- Evaluate applications based on the grant program evaluation criteria
- Consult with municipal departments on those applications that may have a direct or indirect impact on municipal services and/or budgets
- Make recommendations in the form of a report to Council on how grant funds are to be allocated
