Article: CK Part of National Immigration Wave

Like most of Canada, immigration is driving the growth in our population in Chatham-Kent.

Data from the 2021 census – Canada’s most recent – shows immigration is helping drive a population increase in the municipality...

According to Audrey Ansell, Director of Community Attraction and Promotion: Chatham-Kent’s overall population is just short of 104,000, of that 9.1 per cent are immigrants – foreign born. That’s up from 8.7 per cent.”

The most recent census data, released in late October, showed 845 people settled in Chatham-Kent during that four-year period who were born in another country.
