Dufferin Avenue in the Community of Wallaceburg between the McNaughton Avenue intersection to 90m west of Walnut Drive.
Project Overview/Scope of Project
This project involves the rehabilitation of 1.9km of Dufferin Avenue from the McNaughton Avenue intersection to 90m west of Walnut Drive.
This project will include the following work:
Installation of new storm sewers at the Arnold Street intersection and stubbing the storm sewer at Arnold Street for future works;
Replacement of 33m of the existing storm sewer along Dauw Avenue;
Replacement of the watermain along Dufferin Avenue including all services and appurtenances west of Arnold Street;
Replacement of 125m of watermain along Dufferin Avenue and all appurtenances through the McNaughton Avenue intersection to 75m east;
Removal and replacement of the concrete curb from the west project limits to Arnold Street. Concrete curb which is in poor condition east of Arnold Street will also be repaired;
Removal and replacement of sidewalk on the south boulevard of Dufferin Avenue west of Arnold Street. Construction of a new concrete sidewalk in the north boulevard of Dufferin Avenue west of Arnold Street. Sidewalk which is in poor condition east of Arnold Street will also be repaired;
Removal and replacement of traffic signals at the Elm Dr. S., Arnold St., Forhan St., Selkirk St. and McNaughton Ave. intersections;
Replacement of residential and commercial driveway approaches within municipal boulevards;
Rehabilitation of manholes and catchbasins along the entire length of the work area;
Utilization of cold-in-place asphalt recycling and resurfacing of the existing roadway including line painting; and
Boulevard grading and restoration in all areas affected by construction.
Construction is planned to begin in May 2023 and road work is expected to be complete by November 2023, with restoration works scheduled to be taking place in the spring/summer of 2024.
Both directions of traffic are intended to be maintained during the entire duration of construction.
Access to properties and businesses will remain open during construction. Some unavoidable disruption may occur. On-site coordination and notification will be provided.
Traffic controls and detour signage will be provided throughout the project limits at all times.
Dillon Consulting Limited will be serving as the Municipality’s representative during construction including full-time onsite construction inspection and monitoring.
