The Youth Community Recognition Awards Program honours students for their outstanding commitment to community service. Principals across all schools boards in Chatham-Kent are asked to nominated a student for their school.
Deadline to Submit a Name?
Submit names by Friday, April 4th. Schools with over 500 students or schools that are K through Grade 12 are asked to submit two students.
When Can We Tell the Student?
Please inform the student in whichever manner you choose. It might be fun to include the information during the morning announcements.
When and Where Will the Event Take Place?
May 14, 2025
The event will be taking place at the Capitol Theatre. 238 King St W, Chatham, ON N7M 1E7
Event begins at 7 p.m.
We ask that students arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. for lining up to enter the event.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for students and guests to use the 360-degree camera and photo booth.
Who May Attend the Event?
Students can bring as many people as they like. We would also love for school staff to attend.
Students Receives What?
Students will receive an engraved award, a swag bag and a gift card to a local restaurant ($50).
Attachments
Attached is a consent form for the legal guardian of the student to complete as well as a poster communicating information to the student’s family. The signed consent form will need to be uploaded to complete the online nomination form.
Song
Students are asked to select a song that will be played as they walk across the stage. The name of the song and band will be asked in the on-line nomination form.

Students first and last name
Description of volunteer work - no more than 100 words
Email and phone number for student's teacher
Completed consent form
Song name and band that student wants to walk across the stage
